How I Get Beach Waves

Hi everyone.  I get asked so often how I get my beach waves!  I thought today I would go through it step by step because one of my favorite curling irons is on major sale at QVC.

If you’ve never tried the Beachwaver before, it’s a must-have!  It’s perfect for someone like me who’s not exactly a pro with a curling iron.  It rotates itself and it’s soooo easy!!  Mine is the 1″ barrel and it’s perfect to achieve that “beach-y look” but it also comes in a few other sizes.

First I section my hair and start curling the bottom layer.  A few tips to remember…

*Leave about 1.5″ of hair out at the bottom, that’s what will give you that beach-y look!

*I always start with the clip facing forward (pictured below)

Use the arrow button to rotate the curling iron away from your face.  Especially for the pieces of hair surrounding your face be sure to curl away from your face.

The fact that this beachwaver rotates on it own make the curling part so much easier and cuts down on a ton of time!

  

I section out the other side and do the same exact thing.  I always had a hard time curling this side of my head because it’s opposite and I would just be all confused with what direction I had to go.  But the BEST part about the beachwaver is you just hit the other arrow and it does everything for you!  Getting perfectly curled pieces away from your face every time.

Once my whole head is curled I’ll spray with hairspray and run my fingers through the tight curls to create those beach waves.

 

If your hair tends to lose a curl fast (mine does too) then spray with hairspray and leave the curls tight for a while before you run your fingers through it.
